About us

Simple money management, without the complexity

BudgetingClarity exists for everyday people — beginners, families, and anyone trying to get out of debt or finally stick to a budget. We turn intimidating financial advice into free, practical tools and guides you can actually use.

Our mission

Most people don't struggle with money because they're irresponsible — they struggle because personal finance is made unnecessarily complicated. Our mission is to remove that friction: clear calculators, honest guides, and templates that make budgeting feel doable instead of overwhelming.

Why these tools exist

We built BudgetingClarity out of a real-world frustration: budgeting apps that lock basic features behind subscriptions, and advice that's long on theory and short on steps. So we made the opposite — free tools that give instant answers, paired with practical systems anyone can follow.

What makes us different

Free where it matters

Our core calculators and guides are free for everyone — no login, no paywall, no catch.

We translate confusing money topics into plain language and simple, doable steps.

Practical over theoretical

How our tools are tested & validated

Financial advice is a "Your Money, Your Life" topic — so accuracy and transparency matter. Here's how we keep our calculators and guides trustworthy:

  • Every calculator uses transparent formulas — we show exactly how each result is computed.
  • Articles are researched against established budgeting frameworks (50/30/20, zero-based, snowball/avalanche).
  • Guidance is reviewed for accuracy and updated as best practices evolve.
  • We never recommend products we wouldn't use ourselves.

How our calculators work

We believe you should be able to see exactly how every number is produced. Here are the formulas behind each free tool — no black boxes, and all calculations run privately in your browser.

Monthly Budget Calculator

Remaining Balance = Total Income − all expenses (including planned savings). Savings Rate = Planned Savings ÷ Income. Results turn red when expenses exceed income.

Debt Payoff Calculator

We apply your monthly interest (APR ÷ 12) to the balance, subtract your payment, and repeat month by month until the balance hits zero. Total cost = original debt + all interest paid.

Savings Goal Calculator

Each month we grow your balance by any optional interest (compounded monthly), then add your contribution, until you reach your target — returning the time and projected balance.

Emergency Fund Calculator

Recommended size = monthly essential expenses × your chosen months of coverage. We subtract your current fund and divide the remainder by your monthly contribution to estimate a completion date.
